Helpful hint #1.....Picking the right grip
Too many times I see golfers coming into the shop buying grips that are not beneficial to their golf game or their wallet. Some people come in assuming that the 12 dollar grip is the best one for them because it is the most expensive and they see the advertisements on TV. (The number one grip on the PGA tour) well the key word to that is PGA and tour, those guys are professional and they tinker with a lot of different equipment. The grip they used is generally designed for golfers who play a lot of rounds, that does not necessarily mean that grip is going to last a while. Most competitive golfers change their grips once every 4 months or so, and on the PGA usually a lot more frequently than that. For the average guy out there, I would suggest going to your local pro or golf shop and get their honest opinion. If you have a larger hand you might want to look into a midsize or over-sized grip. These usually cost a little bit more but they are worth it if your hands are large enough. The opposite applies for a smaller hand or a woman, ladies grips are available and generally cost the same as the regular grips. Cord grips are better if you have trouble holding on to the club, but they do cause more damage to your glove and hand. The rubber grip wrap by golf pride I think is a great grip for the weekend warrior. It will last you all season and will only cost about 7 bucks a grip. Its certainly the best bang for your buck. Hope this helps your decision next time you are in picking your grips!
